How can I find what firmware and software versions I'm running?
Last Updated: 10/22/2012
Some application programs such as MaxIm store information about the camera in the FITS header of every image.

Check the "INSTRUME" tag of the FITS header of any recent image.  It shows the hardware (HW), Firware (FW) and Plug-in (PI) versions.  With a 583 or 683, the tag will look similar to this:

INSTRUME        = 'QSI 583ws S/N 00504000 HW 06.00.00 FW 05.02.06 PI 6.0.606.0'
INSTRUME        = 'QSI 683ws S/N 00601000 HW 09.00.00 FW 06.02.00 PI 6.0.606.0'

Follow the steps below to check the version of the low level USB driver:

  1. Connect the camera.
  2. Open Device Manager.
  3. Click the "+" next to Imaging Devices.
  4. Right-click on "QSI Camera" and select Properties
  5. Click the Driver tab.

You should be running "Version 2.8.14 dated 3/18/2011" or later.

If you need to update any of the software/firmware, you can download the latest versions from the Software page on the QSI web site:
